I also feel she should have recuse herself. if nothing for nothing else; to avoid the appearence of any indirect or direct benefit/conflict of interest. Falling to do so creates the conflict of interest and the appearence of some direct or indirect benefit to said person or family(spouse). I feel the best remedy would be a review by the ethics committee and a voluntary removal as chairperson. Its seems to me it is power politics at its worst at our local level of town governance.
