We don’t need no stinkin’ business
There is something fundamentally wrong with this discussion that took place at a recent Middleboro BOS meeting. The discussion followed a routine hearing to grant a license for a new business – Ragz – a secondhand women’s clothing store.
I’ll say no more and leave it to the viewer to decide for themselves.

Bumpkin,
I don’t see the point of this.
One man seems to want to make Middleboro the used whatever capital, The other wants to protect the potential for a Beautiful downtown Middleboro.
Oh! I get it now.. Stupid me.
I see it different.
I see on Selectman who did some homework on the second hand business, and another belly aching about one that wants to open up.
In this economy, I think downtown should take what it can get and not sour the mood over a new business. Spataro came off sounding like someone who just wanted to hear himself talk
Re:
Guess I read the title wrong?
I heard one Selectman state an opinion or was it a question?
Then I heard a well versed Selectman giving his opinion.
What was the outcome on the issue?
A very rude title of a blog ?
I am all for the small business don’t ever get it mixed up.
“One did homework”
“The other one belly aching”
Tells the whole story.
I found this exchange offensive and naive on Mr. Spataro’s part. You can’t on the one hand condemn CPA because people can’t afford less than $100 per year and then criticized ‘used stores’ in town.
How does he think people are getting by?
I might suggest that he visit the local thrift stores, the Salvation Army in Bridgewater, and other such stores. He might also drive around town as the weather warms and stop at the yard sales. The customers and merchandise would surprise him.
Some of the furniture we have purchased at yard sales was gently used and greatly appreciated.
Some women have clothes hanging in their closets with tags on them, never worn. I worked at a retailer’s and at the end of the seasons, I always stocked up with bargains that I never wore.
Most people would never admit their shopping habits, but I’ve gotten some great deals.
And if you have children, known for breaking things, dropping glasses, what better deal?
Stores need to be occupied and owners receiving rent.
Mr. Spataro continually indicates his isolation from the real world.
